The “SIZE Editor” file included with this document contains a SIZE resource editor that is used as a replacement for the template included with ResEdit. You need ResEdit 2.1 or better for this to be of any use to you. To install it, open up the “SIZE Editor” file with ResEdit and copy everything in it. Open ResEdit itself and paste the resources in it.
The main reason for this editor is to simplify and speed up the editing of SIZE resources. While the template included with ResEdit suffices, this SIZE editor shows everything in one glance and more clearly rather than having to scroll around through an ugly template. Besides that, it just looks a whole lot better.
When you open up a SIZE resource with this editor, a small dialog containing checkboxes for the size flags and two edit fields for the sizes is displayed. I included all the flags that were in the template in ResEdit 2.1, so there are some for System 7 along with the older ones ones. Only one of the flags needs explainging. The “Does activate on foreground switch” flag used to mean “MultiFinder aware,” but with System 7 it changes (That is, I think it does. I don't have System 7 yet), so most applications will have it set.
The only changes between this version and version 1.0 are that this one fixes a major bug (actually, an oversight) causing it to create new SIZE resources of the wrong size (the correct size is ten bytes) and it includes two flags that were previously not included because they were obsolete. (I just got curious about which applications I use have these flags set, so I added them. It’s much more complete this way anyway.)
I can’t think of anything else that can be added to this, so I’m not going to upgrade it again (unless you think of something). If you want me to add something else, have some more ideas, bug reports (gasp!), etc., just send me some sort of mail (Email included) telling me what you think about it. Even if you think it's just fine the way it is, or even if you hate it, send me something.
